WOS Silicone heating elements "Standard portfolio"

The heater consists of heating conductor tracks as stranded wire, wire or etched foil (laid in a meandering shape), which are embedded between two thermally and mechanically resistant silicone layers with additional fabric inserts to protect them against moisture (IP54). The entire element is vulcanized into a homogeneous unit under pressure. The standard color of the silicone heating elements is red / brown, for railway applications it is blue.

The structure of the heater has mechanical, electrical and thermal advantages compared to a structure with a sewn-on heating conductor in the temperature range up to 250 °C. The heater with its smooth surface enables a good contact even on curved surfaces and an optimal cleaning option when dirty. Due to the tight heating conductor installation high outputs are possible combined with fast heating-up and reaction times. The flexibility of the heater is guaranteed even at temperatures down to -40°C or -60°C.
